I just got home from The Mummy, and I must say I really enjoyed it. I was torn between going or not, because I could have gotten work done, but today was so unnecessarily stressful lmao. Happy Tuesday. The movies … Continue reading
Ohhhhhhh my goodness. Wonder Woman was the fucking shit. So much so I started the clapping when the movie ended. My homeboy was embarrassed. But I don’t see why. What’s wrong with clapping after a movie? Anyone else agree? … Continue reading
Hi guys. Happy Sunday. Today I made a conscious decision to take care of myself, and canceled the 2 events I had for the evening. I wanted to see Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie with my brother, so that’s what … Continue reading
Lmao. I can’t get over this movie. This was a complete trip. From beginning to end. The entire movie took place in one room lmao. I feel like that must have made it a low-budget film. But then again who … Continue reading
You guys! Power Rangers was so cute lmao. I needed this on a Monday. Shout out to my homegirl d for the cause. We hit the 7:30pm at Arclight Hollywood, the most expensive movie theater in Los Angeles lmao. Halla.
My bro was supposed to come, but he’s a chicken lmao. He knows why. I stopped by his work beforehand cause it’s down the street. I love Stylehaul lmao their office is so lit. It’s right there on Sunset and Vine. Shout out to @goodgirlpr for sending me the most glorious pair of jeans. I had to support and post a photo in good lighting. So that brought to my bro’s office building lmao. Best believe I raided their snack pantry.
You guys. Power Rangers! Childhood. Per Twitter, I saw someone say this was 22 years later. Holy shit, I’m old af. That makes me so fucking sad. That means I was 4. Smh.
IMDB plot: A group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world.
I couldn’t tell if it was PG or PG-13 the whole movie haha. So you could probably tell this is a little bit kid-ish My hg took the kids she babysat for over the weekend lmao so cute. I wish I had kids to take. I used to take clients to see movies. I miss that. But anyways. It’s just pure entertainment. This 5 bkids were so young lmao. I can’t. Wish I could have morphed into a superhero with my squad in high-school. That woulda been so lit.
The villain is cheesy but not really in a negative way. It went with the vibe of the movie. It’s literally an exact 2 hours, which made me so happy because I was able to mob to Core Power Yoga after. That 10pm Hot Power Fusion class saves lives.
Also if I was a Power Ranger, I’d def be purple. My hg said green. Both weren’t in the movie lmao. I thought it was super dope that they chose all 5 characters as different races. Statement <3.
I was up so fucking late last night :|. I went to bed when my roomie got up lmao. Honestly though, last night was the most fun I’ve had in a while. Truly. It was the Chocolate Sundaes after party at Pookey’s house in North Hills. No idea where I was but I was turnt. Btw, Pookey is the founder of CS at Laugh Factory, also Kevin Hart’s manager. Best believe I tripped when I found out lmao. Salute. He manages my fav comedian lmao. My girl is the sweetest for inviting me. Watching all the best comedians in LA ball is something everyone needs to experience.
Anyways. I was late af today. And that caused me to speed and completely miss my freeway exit and go an extra unneeded 15 minutes on the 110. Smh. I need help.
Thank god for yoga. And chocolate. And bud.
TRACK OF THE DAY: MY girl saw Zay tn, so I’m hit you with my fav track from TDE.
My poor brother lmao. My poor fucking brother. I drive him literally insane. One day bro, I’ll pay you back. I promise. Anyways. We caught the 8pm showing of The Accountant at The Grove, late af. That might have been why I was so confused the entire movie. But yo, this movie was lit. It was really intense. I think every accountant out there should watch it, just cause. Like their boss should take the company as an outing haha.
Wiki: Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a mathematics savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Using a small-town CPA office as a cover, he makes his living as a freelance accountant for dangerous criminal organizations. With a Treasury agent (J.K. Simmons) hot on his heels, Christian takes on a state-of-the-art robotics company as a legitimate client. As Wolff gets closer to the truth about a discrepancy that involves millions of dollars, the body count starts to rise.
So Ben Affleck kills it per usual. And Anna Kendrick in the movie was tripping me out. I’ve only seen her play funny roles, like bizarre comedy roles haha. So seeing her all serious in a movie was weird. Plus kept noticing how tiny she was. Like I wonder how she is in person lmao. Okay I’ll stop. She did good.
This movie caught my eye particularly bc I used to be a math major. Like… I fucking loved that shit. Algebra was so fun to me lmao. I’m so sad. I always say I feel like I had so much potential but then I discovered partying and that was the end of that. My brain is fried. In reality, I transferred to UCLA as a math major but that shit was way too hard. It was a joke. Not that philosophy was much easier, but my ego wasn’t shot from getting back 30%’s on the midterms. This was AFTER I studied my ass off.
Wow anyways. What they don’t tell you in the plot is that Ben is autistic. It’s a crazy aspect of the film but it was extremely eye-opening. No spoiler alert, pretty sure it’s in the trailer haha. Definitely a solid movie. A little over 2 hours. I’d recommend it. Again, esp for you accountants. And I feel like a lot of my friends are. They work the craziest longest hours. Mad respect.
Today was a fucking Monday if it ever was one. I couldn’t sleep til late (stan) so work was a definite struggle. Took a nap in my car on my lunch. Please tell me other people do that. I feel like the minority.
Went straight to the dentist for a checkup. Went to the doctor to pick up my scripts. Went to Core Power Yoga 2. That shit had me sweating profusely. So necessary though.
Then went home to get my laptop because I had to go to Verizon to get a new iPhone. I completely shattered my screen last night, which is starting to feel like a damn curse. I had a free upgrade (my bro’s line, again, ty) and literally drove all the way home so I could back up my shit at the store.
BUT IT WOULDN’T BACK UP. LITERALLY. Kept saying “turn off Find my iPhone” when it was off on all devices. Verizon told me I had to go to Apple cause they were stumped. So of course, The Grove, which is the busiest Genius Bar in all of LA, verbatim from one of their workers. The dude was nice and tried to help me, but couldn’t. Cool. I had to come back in the AM right when they open. As if I have time for this.
Sorry guys. My blog is literally for me to complain about my unnecessarily dramatic life. It’s like, drama with myself. Lmao.
And then I fucked up and didn’t tell my bro I was at The Grove so he drove all the way to the Beverly Center cause that’s where Verizon was. Smh. So sorry bro. You hate me.
The popcorn at the movies was stale. Goodbye.
TRACK OF THE DAY: Friend put me on this track last night. FEELS.
Wow. I’m honestly completely speechless. This movie was extremely heavy and left me at a loss for words. I hadn’t heard much about it, but people told me it was a slave movie. That’s a topic I definitely showed interested in growing up in high school. I hated history too. Martin Luther King was always an idol to me.
This picture captures the emotion in this film. I’m gonna hit you with the Wiki plot bc IMDB’s is pointless:
TRACK OF THE DAY: My girl hates this song and I find it hilarious. I like it haha.
Wow, I’m kind of in shock rn now haha. I just saw a private screening of the movie Kicks, which stars CJ Wallace, Biggie’s son. That’s reason enough to watch it right? It gets even better, it’s based in the … Continue reading
Jessica Alba is bae. And literally there’s no way she popped a baby out of her haha. THhey literally created a scene so she could show off her body in a bikini lmao. Mechanic: Resurrection at The Grove at 8:40pm, fashionably late with my PIC. I only heard of this movie bc my bro saw her at Arclight Hollywood for the premiere and I freaked out cause I love her haha.Anyways. Today was nuts.
One thing I learned is that it’s okay to be a fan. Being in the industry, I have been exposed to a lot of rappers and celebrities. And if there’s someone who you truly admire and love, what they call fangirling, THAT’S OKAY. That’s how it should be. You SHOULD be a fan and freak out. Because they’re talented and to me, it’s a way of saying thank you. For your talents.
Anyways. Today was nuts. Literally my life has been insane lately, and I want to hide under a rock. Also, I started my FOMO blog on DX, so I’ll prob only use this for movies now. I know, you’re heartbroken. Check it out though!
I had an interview in Santa Monica today to try to find a placement for my last year of fieldwork, and it was a total bust. It made me so sad. Literally had so much hope and it just stabbed me in the heart. She said they didn’t need any more interns. So why the fuck did you agree to meet with me? Smh. Whatever.
I really really wanna get back in school this semester. I have to. But it’s so beyond my control at this point. It sucks so much.
Worked all day. Then hit this dope boxing event. Well, it ended up being just a little worout sesh. Shout out to the girl who invited me out. It was promoting this TV film called Ringside, and all I got from the flier was that it was going to be a workout class. It was at The Body in Hollywood, and the trainer/owner is literally so lit. She opened it up with her boyfriend, and they’re just the hottest couple ever lmao. It is right across from Hollywood Cemetry on Santa Monica, but it took me 35 min to get there haha. Not lit.
I invited my girl and was super excited for it cause I wanted a hard workout haha. Turns out this event was legit all the cast of the movie. We were like uhhhhhh lmao. They were LIT. Like, hot af. And fit. So after they took pictures of themselves for like 10 years, they finally started the workout. They said it was going to be an hour but it ended being a lot shorter.
The warmup actually had me out of breath haha but I wanted more. Legit there was this one exercise with ropes that I couldn’t do and it made me so so sad. I have no upper body strength :(. My hg KILLED IT THOUGH. Shout out to her, she literally owned that shit. I’m jealous haha.
We actually also shot a video for DX compiling people’s reactions to the Frank Ocean hype. That should be lit. I was so ratch from the day though I was like I should not be on camera rn haha. *skull emoji*
We had plans to hit the movie after. I love The Grove so much haha. You already know it was popping. I gave my girl my last free pass haha but she deserved it cause we were late af. It didn’t matter though, this movie is all action so it really doesn’t matter if you miss any parts haha.
IMDB Plot: Arthur Bishop thought he had put his murderous past behind him when his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life. Now he is forced to travel the globe to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best, make them look like accidents.
Do you guys like Jason Statham? I think he’s super lit. He always plays his role super well. There was a sex scene with Jessica Alba that was like whoa lmao. Like how many times they gotta film that until they get it? The movie was an hour 40. Totally doable.
The film got mixed reviews, but the low was pretty low. I swear it’s always because the picture is terrible. Like when you can tell they use a green screen… not lit. It makes the entire movie tacky af. I feel bad bc there was def potential there haha. Yo, bitches clapped after the movie. That was some shit.
The theater was packed too. But I guess it is opening night on a Friday. Makes sense. Man, I was just telling my girl why I love movies so much. Bc it’s an excuse to avoid the turn up haha. Seriously, fuck going out. I just don’t see the point. Getting drunk is such a waste of life. Although I was guilty of it for like way 8 years.
I guess this movie is the sequel to one a couple years ago. I was sad bc it was hella unrealistic. Like the shit Jason pulls off is just like…. impossible. Which made it less cool. His murders were fucking lit though. Literally nuts haha. It took place all around the world, but what really stuck out was how fucking beautiful Sydney, Australia was. I passed up a trip with my fam and 100% regret it. It’s gorgeous.
I’m soooooo scattered rn. Help.
TRACK OF THE DAY: Life.
First of all, I had to look up the name of this movie again lmao. Florence Foster Jenkins. Fucking hard to remember. Legit have never heard of this until 10 min before we decided to go haha. It turned out to be so good though. SO WORTH IT. Legit my life is crazy rn, and movies are such a good break from life. Truly. Esp if it’s a really good film. And this was.
So me and my hg were supposed to attend this screening of Ringside, this movie that was going to be released on TV or some shit idk. It was so crazy because the screening was actually at Actor’s Fund, where I was originally placed for my second year fieldwork at USC. But them bitches let me go. So fucking sad haha. I actually really liked them too. And they’re close to where I live. SIGH.
So it wasn’t meant to be right off the bat haha. The screening was at 7 with a cast Q&A after, and we pulled up around 7:20 and they said they were at capacity. Even though we were on the list. Smh. Fashionably late doesn’t always fly lmao. I hit up the publicist who set it up but she had responded after we left. She said she could get us in though, SMH again ha.
I feel so bad haha shout out to my one hg who actually asked me to see this movie, but we ended up seeing it without her. I’m sorry!! Haha she couldn’t go til later and we wanted to go then. Also gotta be up mad early tomorrow, long ass day. So we hit the 7:35pm showing at The Grove. Low key it was perfect. Around the corner haha. And I love that place man. I had an extra movie pass so I gave it to my girl <3.
The theater was kinda packed, but it was the smaller theaters. Ooo they had a screening for Don’t Breathe, which is a scary movie coming out. We’re excited for that one haha halla if you wanna come. But anywho this movie got super good reviews. I feel like the Indie films always come out on top. Fuck mainstream haha. Plus they had some big timers in it.
Here’s the plot: The story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.
Short and sweet lmao. It stars Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, and Simon Helberg. Omg I fell in love with Simon. My girl knew him from Big Bang Theory. He’s hella funny man. Super nerdy but super perfect for his role in the movie. It’s almost 2 hours long but it’s super interesting and entertaining the entire time. I loved it ha.
AND it’s based on a true story. That’s always a plus, in any situation. It was such a trip though. Hella takeaways haha. Me and my girl were trying to list them. My top was: do what you love, even if you suck. Lmao. Fr though. And sucking with opera singing is no joke. Like people’s ears get hurt haha. And that’s exactly what Meryl did. Also wondering if that was her singing throughout the film, because that shit was intense haha.
I can’t help to laugh because my brother thinks she’s hella annoying. He woulda been so pissed if I made him watch this haha. UmmMmmMmMmm. I had to get a FUCKING nother rental car today. Legit wasted my morning waiting around only to be put in a fucking Toyota Prius. Jk it’s not that bad, I actually super fuck with the car haha. Save gas hayyyyy.
I had hella work to do when I finally got back. Got Starbucks for the first time in a long time and it was so bomb guys haha. White mocha frap for life. I also crashed a class at USC today, trying to enroll this semester. Crossing my fingers man. It was soooooo weird to be back. Especially when I thought I wasn’t going back. Sigh. Life is crazy.
There were a couple girls in my class whom I adore, so it was good to see them. But man, I’m constantly distracted. It’s so hard for me to focus on one thing at any given time. Like opening 10 tabs on Google Chrome. Why can’t I just finish one task and move on to the next like a normal person?
TRACK OF THE DAY: G-Eazy just dropped this. Shout out to the Bay ALWAYS.
