Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Hi guys. Happy Sunday. Today I made a conscious decision to take care of myself, and canceled the 2 events I had for the evening. I wanted to see Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie with my brother, so that’s what … Continue reading

I was literally so fucking excited to see this was playing at Landmark on Pico. Jackie at 7:15pm. It left theaters around the time of my bday- I checked. We hella wanted to see it. It got incredible ratings and … Continue reading

20th Century Women.

Yes please. A chick flick/comedy is all needed today. It’s been a ruff month, I swear. My soulmate emailed me about 20th Century Women and I literally was like leggo lmao. Anyone who asks me to see a movie, I will make it a priority haha. If I have time of course. Today was actually supposed to be my bday celebration, but the weather was like nope. Literally, pouring. That shit would have straight flooded.

So crazy because I actually hit this make up event beforehand, which did flood. Thank god I pulled up literally right when it reopened. All the girls said they were waiting in the parking lot for 2 fucking hours. No chill. It was this event called Generation Beauty put on by Ipsy. Man, that shit was so lit lmao.

I went for my girl cause she went out of town. A 2-day pass was fucking $118. Like WHAT. But I guess you’re paying for the products. Literally, so many samples. It was honestly a blast and I went dolo haha. I hustled as much free shit as I could. It was at the L.A. Live event deck, behind Regal Theatres. V interesting, never been up there. I enjoyed getting soaked from head to toe (said no one ever). Of course, my umbrella sits in my closet all year long and the one day I need it, I don’t have it. Of course.

This movie is an Indie film, which means it’s only playing at select theaters. We mobbed to Arclight Hollywood at 5pm. I had just come from Core Power Yoga and was a hot mess, but thankfully the rain made everyone a hot mess. I took the C2 class and it was literally so fucking hard lmao. Like that instructor was advanced af. Anywho. Shout out to my Costa Rica crew, I hadn’t seen them since our trip, and fucking missed them.

It helped that this movie got 90% ratings. Rotten Tomatoes plot: During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mom and boardinghouse landlord (Annette Bening) decides the best way she can parent her teenage son (Lucas Jade Zumann) is to enlist her young tenants – a quirky punk photographer (Greta Gerwig), a mellow handyman (Billy Crudup) and her son’s shrewd best friend (Elle Fanning) – to serve as role models in a changing world.

This plot doesn’t do justice. You might need to see the trailer, or just go see it haha and trust my judgment. It’s really quirky. I really loved that our entire theater was giggling throughout. It’s 2 hours, and I didn’t check my phone once. Didn’t even think about it. It takes place during a time when people were smoking cigarettes inside their homes. That tripped me out. That mom was smoking at the dinner table, with the food right in front of her.

This film highlighted a lot of the real life issues we deal with in this day in age. So accurate, and so real. It also shows how much a mom struggles how to keep a relationship with her son. Made me feel some typa way. It also takes place in Santa Barbara, my old hood. I enjoyed it a lot. You will too. I promise.

After swallowing the pain of a $17.75 movie ticket, I proceed to lose my parking ticket, which cost another $12. Literally had a meltdown. I decided last minute to hit church at Mosaic for their 7pm service. First time all year, and I was dolo. I liked it cause no one could see me cry lmao. Yelped a lit foot massage after. Shout out to Asia Foot Spa on Sunset.

Crazy week ahead. Sigh.

TRACK OF THE DAY: This song is fire.

War Dogs.

Whooooaaaaa guys. This movie was super lit. And the fact that it’s a true story makes it that much cooler. Shoutout to Jonah Hill for doing the damn thang. My bro goes “I thought he lost weight” lmao. Def not for this film. He killed it though, and I have to mention how beautiful his blue eyes are haha. Miles Teller is the other star who’s name I was trying to figure out the entire movie.

War Dogs at The Grove at 4:35pm with my bros. Shout out to them I love them so much!!! Fr we had a good ass Sunday today. It was great and sad it’s over haha. The theater was pretty packed but we found seats to the side. This was the big movie opening this weekend besides Kubo (OMG I almost said Kabu again). It got pretty good ratings, like 75% ish. I actually think it deserves higher.

Here’s the plot: Based on the true story of two young men, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America’s allies in Afghanistan.

Hmmm, dunno if that did it justice haha. It takes place in the 2000s in Miami, which made me hella miss Miami haha. I was like…. wait. Could I live there? So beautiful. Basically Jonah and Miles get involved in a gun smuggling business which lands them hella money. But of course: mo money, mo problems.

It’s really good. It’s 2 hours long so prepare for that. My second bro said it’s one of those movies that keep you engaged the entire time, like you have to keep watching. My lit ass fell asleep for a little lmao and I was like sad about it. Like I was sad I missed shit when I woke up haha. I cannot blaze during the day guys haha. I just can’t. Can’t hang.

If you’re into drug movies like Pablo Escobar type shit, I’d recommend this for sure. Before the movie, me and my bros tried to hit the Kanye West pop up shop in LA. Well me, and I dragged them haha. FAIL AF. We at first drove by it because I had this grand idea of cutting the line, but then I legit felt bad bc kids were waiting for like 2 hours haha. 2 hours standing in the heat haha. I think I wanted to get in more for the challenge than the actual shop. Smh.

But yeah the lady at the front said there’s no media or press so I just walked away with my head down low lmao. But then! We saw a dope Kanye mural on the corner of Fairfax and Melrose, and it was right next to a gas station and I needed gas. Perf. It turns out this was an art gallery. The minute I walked in I saw Bape clothing on a rack and was like, I’m home lmao. It’s called Dom Gallery in case any of you guys want to check it out. Real small but super dope.

Before the movie I made a dispensary stop which turned into me buying a new piece. Which I haven’t done in sooooo long. This pipe only cost 12 bucks though and I seriously needed one bc I CAN’T ROLL FOR SHIT. But this means I’m gonna smoking a lot more smh. It’ll be at my side whenever I need haha.

Anyways. We were on a good one haha. And then we got a foot massage after at Wilshire Spa on the way home. Mine sucked this time haha I was so mad at my dude. He was so slow and took forever in between the transitions. I legit wanted to be like you’re wasting my money bro haha but I controlled myself. Ummm, what else.

I had my bro’s friend try to untangle my necklaces lmao sooo sad. He couldn’t haha. I think I’ma just throw them away haha. If you’re new, I spent a good portion of last night complaining about these hanger of necklaces that got tangled during my move, and then an hour wasted untangling them. There’s 3 left and it’s legit impossible and hurts my soul. I should just toss them. Yeah.

This week… is gonna suck. Ha. Meep. I’m future trippin. Tough.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Throwback. I fucking love this song.

Ooooooooo. I’ma get rich on you. This track was literally stuck in my head all day, in light of the show tn haha. Get Rich by RJ featuring Iamsu if you didn’t know. It was legit my summer anthem last year. And hey, it’s summer again. Time is kinda flying. How it is the end of July already. Like how…. And I’m just getting older. FOREVER GETTING OLDER.

I need to chill haha. Anyways. RJ at the Novo downtown. I wanted to hit this show the day it was announced haha. I love RJ and his music. It slaps. He’s an LA cat and I always say DJ Mustard put him on. He’s literally flying solo now and it’s amazing to see his progress. Like, he’s doing it. Not KILLING it, but he’s def doing it.

The turnout was good. I didn’t expect it, but then remembered, it is his hometown. I wonder how his followings are in other cities and the east coast. This show was mad lit though. Like, he’s a great performer. His energy is so there which is what every artist needs. I’ve seen him perform before. He actually did an event with Joyrich. It was super intimate and he was rocking this big ass fur Coke jacket and sweating balls lmao. Literally felt bad for him. That jacket was so ugly to me haha and it was like $300 bucks. Hella people fucked with it…

Speaking of, I found a BUNCH of Joyrich shit I never worn after moving. I used to fuck with the brand so tough lmao. Spent half my paycheck there too. But anywho. RJ also came through DX for a music meeting and dropped bangers from OMMIO 3. If y’ll never heard his stuff, it might be hard to fall in love. That’s my guess. But his shit knocks to me. His personality was real chill, like just your average guy, with daddy duties haha. Fr though, I think he has a lot of kids….

I had a plus one and invited my hg. She loved his first album, which is why I fuck with her haha. My homie actually hit me about the show too bc the artist he’s managing, Yung Pinch, was opening. There was miscommunication and sadly I missed his set. Got to meet him tho and he was real nice. 18-year-old kid from Huntington Beach, just trynta make it with his music. I can always respect that.

My other girl came and met us, I work with her. They fucked up her ticket. I hate venues man! Always that risk of running into issues when you’re told you’re on the list. Smh. Anyways haha so glad she came. She’s so sweet. RJ was lit too. All throughout the show.

It’s like unbearably hot in my room, and idk what to do about it. It’s seriously insane how hot it is. The fan my bro gave me I feel like just blows hot air around haha. Man, I still need to move my shit in. I’ve been putting it off tough. Just been so busy. And tired. So tired lately.

I went on a run in the crazy heat, don’t ask why. I feel like I’ve been eating extra shit lately and super bloated. So I wanted to haha. My homie hit me to listen to Phonte & Eric Roberson’s new project called Tigallero, which I really enjoyed. Super old school and soul vibes. Phonte used to be a part of Little Brother, who were extremely respected in the Hip Hop game back in the day. He def shows he can still spit.

Then some of DJ Drama’s Street Quality Music 3 came on and I was turnt lmao. Such ignorant music. After that, I picked up meds, and  decided to treat myself to another foot massage. I needed it so fucking bad haha and the dude was bomb today. He was so much stronger than the females I usually request… I legit loved it haha. Joy Foot Spa on La Cienega y’ll. Get there.

Went home, showered, sat in front of my fan. For a minute haha. Me and my hg literally entered the venue RIGHT when RJ came on stage. So perfect haha.

My to-do list is so long rn man. I have so much shit to do tomorrow. And it’s gonna be hot af. Scared haha.

Thanks for reading. I ramble. ❤

TRACK OF THE DAY: Shit knocks.

I had to snap this beautiful pic of Jessica Alba at The Grove haha. She has a pop up shop for her makeup line I believe, called Honest or something. It’s always closed when I usually go late at night … Continue reading

Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

This shit was literally comedy. Sorry the pic is so small haha I’m too lazy to change it. Prob should provide a better one though to get a closer look at Zac Efron. Homeboy is hot. I’ll admit it I’ll admit it. *Drake voice* Literally, please go to this movie lit. I was dying the entire time.

It’s the sequel to the first Neighbors, which everyone thought was hilarious. I don’t remember it but I know I enjoyed it. You don’t have to watch the first to watch this. The beauty of mindless comedies haha. The cast is so lit though. Literally everyone famous.

I don’t wanna give any spoilers because I might haha literally every joke was hilarious. It got a bit ridiculous at times, aka the first scene. Once you’ve seen it, let’s talk lmao. Made me feel some typa way.

I picked up my homegirl and we hit the 10:45pm showing at The Grove. We just got a massage at Joy Foot Spa with our other hg, it was glorious. She wasn’t d tho. Tears. I let my hg use my bro’s Moviepass and it worked like a charm. I hope they don’t read this cause they’ve already cancelled my shit once lmao. Anyways.

We were in the premiere theater #1 haha shit was packed. The whole theater was cracking up. Surprise, no applause at the end. It’s only 1.5 hours too. Def blaze it and go haha. Wouldn’t wanna spend my Friday night any other way.

I’m starting to future trip. MEH.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Casey dropped his tape today!! I love him.

Everybody Wants Some!!

Everybody Wants Some!! Yes, the exclamation points are part of the movie title. In this scene, they’re going around smoking a bong, trynta see who can get the most smoke. So that should tell you how the rest of the … Continue reading

This movie made me feel so weird. So uneasy. So weird haha. My gay bestie wanted to see The Witch, but this was sooner. And I had ADD so I wanted to go sooner. Shoutout to him for bearing this … Continue reading

ROOM. One of the best movies I’ve seen in a minute, and you know I see a lot of movies. It’s an Indie film I believe, because it wasn’t playing in mainstream theaters. All g though bc I hit up my fav theater in LA, Landmark on Pico. Free popcorn seasoning ftw.

My hg put this status up and it def made me want to see the film. Although Rotten Tomatoes is bae, I prefer hearing feedback from people I actually know. After seeing it, she couldn’t have said it any better.

“You know that feeling of peace and weightlessness that comes after you’ve had a good, long cry? Like everything that’s been weighing you down, just disappears? That’s what seeing the film Room feels like.
I went to see the film last week during a Q&A Screening in Hollywood and I spent the entire film crying. I was crying so much that at one point I stopped trying to hide it. But I wasn’t crying because the film was somehow too dark- I was crying because of how beautifully this story was being told despite it’s seemingly dark plot. It’s interesting and captivating and gut-wrenching and inspiring and soul crushing and uplifiting, all at the same time. So, if you feel like you need a good cry, or feel like you need to something worth the ridiculous price of movie tickets, see Room.”

Shoutout to her ❤ Initially, I was going to go into the plot, but I think it’s better if you go see it yourself. It’s definitely worth the price of a movie ticket, like she said. Basically, it showcases a mom and her son who are stuck in a room. The mom has been trapped for 7 years and the son just turned 5. So yeah, do the math. The film was so intense. I turned to my soulmate multiple times throughout saying my heart hurt. I think hers did too. So many times I had tears in my eyes, Then during one scene I lost it. Hit me if you’ve seen it and wanna know which one!

I was really glad I went. The movie humbled me in a way. The whole situation was so surreal, and it definitely made me extremely grateful.

Idk what it was about today. I could barely keep my head up and at one point thought about asking to go home sick. Reward myself with a massage after at my usual place. That was dank.

TRACK OF THE DAY: My hg posted this and I had to steal it. She’s mad dope and loves hip hop like I do. King Los is ill too. Feeling extra humble lately. Glory to the Lord.
