Ohhhhhhh my goodness. Wonder Woman was the fucking shit. So much so I started the clapping when the movie ended. My homeboy was embarrassed. But I don’t see why. What’s wrong with clapping after a movie? Anyone else agree? … Continue reading
Hi guys. Happy Sunday. Today I made a conscious decision to take care of myself, and canceled the 2 events I had for the evening. I wanted to see Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie with my brother, so that’s what … Continue reading
Lmao. I can’t get over this movie. This was a complete trip. From beginning to end. The entire movie took place in one room lmao. I feel like that must have made it a low-budget film. But then again who … Continue reading
You guys! Power Rangers was so cute lmao. I needed this on a Monday. Shout out to my homegirl d for the cause. We hit the 7:30pm at Arclight Hollywood, the most expensive movie theater in Los Angeles lmao. Halla.
My bro was supposed to come, but he’s a chicken lmao. He knows why. I stopped by his work beforehand cause it’s down the street. I love Stylehaul lmao their office is so lit. It’s right there on Sunset and Vine. Shout out to @goodgirlpr for sending me the most glorious pair of jeans. I had to support and post a photo in good lighting. So that brought to my bro’s office building lmao. Best believe I raided their snack pantry.
You guys. Power Rangers! Childhood. Per Twitter, I saw someone say this was 22 years later. Holy shit, I’m old af. That makes me so fucking sad. That means I was 4. Smh.
IMDB plot: A group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world.
I couldn’t tell if it was PG or PG-13 the whole movie haha. So you could probably tell this is a little bit kid-ish My hg took the kids she babysat for over the weekend lmao so cute. I wish I had kids to take. I used to take clients to see movies. I miss that. But anyways. It’s just pure entertainment. This 5 bkids were so young lmao. I can’t. Wish I could have morphed into a superhero with my squad in high-school. That woulda been so lit.
The villain is cheesy but not really in a negative way. It went with the vibe of the movie. It’s literally an exact 2 hours, which made me so happy because I was able to mob to Core Power Yoga after. That 10pm Hot Power Fusion class saves lives.
Also if I was a Power Ranger, I’d def be purple. My hg said green. Both weren’t in the movie lmao. I thought it was super dope that they chose all 5 characters as different races. Statement <3.
I was up so fucking late last night :|. I went to bed when my roomie got up lmao. Honestly though, last night was the most fun I’ve had in a while. Truly. It was the Chocolate Sundaes after party at Pookey’s house in North Hills. No idea where I was but I was turnt. Btw, Pookey is the founder of CS at Laugh Factory, also Kevin Hart’s manager. Best believe I tripped when I found out lmao. Salute. He manages my fav comedian lmao. My girl is the sweetest for inviting me. Watching all the best comedians in LA ball is something everyone needs to experience.
Anyways. I was late af today. And that caused me to speed and completely miss my freeway exit and go an extra unneeded 15 minutes on the 110. Smh. I need help.
Thank god for yoga. And chocolate. And bud.
TRACK OF THE DAY: MY girl saw Zay tn, so I’m hit you with my fav track from TDE.
Holy shit everyone. Logan was amazing. Whoever says otherwise seriously has no taste in movies. This film was fire. I’m just so glad I finally got to see it. Ever since opening weekend, everyone had been raving about it. I hate being late lmao but better late than never.
I didn’t know who hadn’t seen it yet, so I literally tweeted to see if anyone wanted to go tn. My hg responded and I was ecstatic lmao. Thank you social media. I also hit up my other girl who had been wanting to go and she was d too. I love my down ass movie PICs. We hit the Arclight in Culver City bc it was the only one with a movie time that worked. It went from like 7 or 8 to 11. I hate that shit lmao. We hit the 8:10pm, and ended up stuck in the very front row lmao.
I never care about being the front, but I feel bad for people who do. We sat down and it literally felt like we were in the movie lmao. I ain’t mad. The first scene in itself was so crazy. My girl told me this is the last time Hugh Jackson is playing Wolverine. Sad times. Seriously, no one can top him in this role. Like, he is Wolverine lmao. Salute to him for being so phenomenal. His acting is perfect.
IMDB plot: In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X somewhere on the Mexican border. However, Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.
If you fuck with Marvel, this is heaven for you lmao. Logan is Wolverine from X-Men. And the professor in the wheelchair! Gotta love him. The film is 2 hours and 15 minutes, but it’s jam-packed. I loved the action. It was definitely violent and gory, but it was also realistic. That’s rare.
I feel bad, my brother hella wanted to see this. Someone go with him lmao.
Today was my first day without a list of events, so I took full advantage. Me and my girl hiked to the wisdom tree, and loved it. I highly recommend this if you in LA. It’s right there by Griffith and the Hollywood Sign hike. The best part is when you actually get to the top and read all the notes that people leave. They’re all so damn inspirational.
Okay. Be good to others and yourself. Muah <3.
TRACK OF THE DAY: This remix though.
Hey guys. I just had a mental breakdown. Literally. So what do I do when I have a breakdown? Write about everything EXCEPT what I’m going through lmao. I can’t thank my girl for picking up my phone call earlier. … Continue reading
Yes please. A chick flick/comedy is all needed today. It’s been a ruff month, I swear. My soulmate emailed me about 20th Century Women and I literally was like leggo lmao. Anyone who asks me to see a movie, I will make it a priority haha. If I have time of course. Today was actually supposed to be my bday celebration, but the weather was like nope. Literally, pouring. That shit would have straight flooded.
So crazy because I actually hit this make up event beforehand, which did flood. Thank god I pulled up literally right when it reopened. All the girls said they were waiting in the parking lot for 2 fucking hours. No chill. It was this event called Generation Beauty put on by Ipsy. Man, that shit was so lit lmao.
I went for my girl cause she went out of town. A 2-day pass was fucking $118. Like WHAT. But I guess you’re paying for the products. Literally, so many samples. It was honestly a blast and I went dolo haha. I hustled as much free shit as I could. It was at the L.A. Live event deck, behind Regal Theatres. V interesting, never been up there. I enjoyed getting soaked from head to toe (said no one ever). Of course, my umbrella sits in my closet all year long and the one day I need it, I don’t have it. Of course.
This movie is an Indie film, which means it’s only playing at select theaters. We mobbed to Arclight Hollywood at 5pm. I had just come from Core Power Yoga and was a hot mess, but thankfully the rain made everyone a hot mess. I took the C2 class and it was literally so fucking hard lmao. Like that instructor was advanced af. Anywho. Shout out to my Costa Rica crew, I hadn’t seen them since our trip, and fucking missed them.
It helped that this movie got 90% ratings. Rotten Tomatoes plot: During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mom and boardinghouse landlord (Annette Bening) decides the best way she can parent her teenage son (Lucas Jade Zumann) is to enlist her young tenants – a quirky punk photographer (Greta Gerwig), a mellow handyman (Billy Crudup) and her son’s shrewd best friend (Elle Fanning) – to serve as role models in a changing world.
This plot doesn’t do justice. You might need to see the trailer, or just go see it haha and trust my judgment. It’s really quirky. I really loved that our entire theater was giggling throughout. It’s 2 hours, and I didn’t check my phone once. Didn’t even think about it. It takes place during a time when people were smoking cigarettes inside their homes. That tripped me out. That mom was smoking at the dinner table, with the food right in front of her.
This film highlighted a lot of the real life issues we deal with in this day in age. So accurate, and so real. It also shows how much a mom struggles how to keep a relationship with her son. Made me feel some typa way. It also takes place in Santa Barbara, my old hood. I enjoyed it a lot. You will too. I promise.
After swallowing the pain of a $17.75 movie ticket, I proceed to lose my parking ticket, which cost another $12. Literally had a meltdown. I decided last minute to hit church at Mosaic for their 7pm service. First time all year, and I was dolo. I liked it cause no one could see me cry lmao. Yelped a lit foot massage after. Shout out to Asia Foot Spa on Sunset.
Crazy week ahead. Sigh.
TRACK OF THE DAY: This song is fire.
My poor brother lmao. My poor fucking brother. I drive him literally insane. One day bro, I’ll pay you back. I promise. Anyways. We caught the 8pm showing of The Accountant at The Grove, late af. That might have been why I was so confused the entire movie. But yo, this movie was lit. It was really intense. I think every accountant out there should watch it, just cause. Like their boss should take the company as an outing haha.
Wiki: Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a mathematics savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Using a small-town CPA office as a cover, he makes his living as a freelance accountant for dangerous criminal organizations. With a Treasury agent (J.K. Simmons) hot on his heels, Christian takes on a state-of-the-art robotics company as a legitimate client. As Wolff gets closer to the truth about a discrepancy that involves millions of dollars, the body count starts to rise.
So Ben Affleck kills it per usual. And Anna Kendrick in the movie was tripping me out. I’ve only seen her play funny roles, like bizarre comedy roles haha. So seeing her all serious in a movie was weird. Plus kept noticing how tiny she was. Like I wonder how she is in person lmao. Okay I’ll stop. She did good.
This movie caught my eye particularly bc I used to be a math major. Like… I fucking loved that shit. Algebra was so fun to me lmao. I’m so sad. I always say I feel like I had so much potential but then I discovered partying and that was the end of that. My brain is fried. In reality, I transferred to UCLA as a math major but that shit was way too hard. It was a joke. Not that philosophy was much easier, but my ego wasn’t shot from getting back 30%’s on the midterms. This was AFTER I studied my ass off.
Wow anyways. What they don’t tell you in the plot is that Ben is autistic. It’s a crazy aspect of the film but it was extremely eye-opening. No spoiler alert, pretty sure it’s in the trailer haha. Definitely a solid movie. A little over 2 hours. I’d recommend it. Again, esp for you accountants. And I feel like a lot of my friends are. They work the craziest longest hours. Mad respect.
Today was a fucking Monday if it ever was one. I couldn’t sleep til late (stan) so work was a definite struggle. Took a nap in my car on my lunch. Please tell me other people do that. I feel like the minority.
Went straight to the dentist for a checkup. Went to the doctor to pick up my scripts. Went to Core Power Yoga 2. That shit had me sweating profusely. So necessary though.
Then went home to get my laptop because I had to go to Verizon to get a new iPhone. I completely shattered my screen last night, which is starting to feel like a damn curse. I had a free upgrade (my bro’s line, again, ty) and literally drove all the way home so I could back up my shit at the store.
BUT IT WOULDN’T BACK UP. LITERALLY. Kept saying “turn off Find my iPhone” when it was off on all devices. Verizon told me I had to go to Apple cause they were stumped. So of course, The Grove, which is the busiest Genius Bar in all of LA, verbatim from one of their workers. The dude was nice and tried to help me, but couldn’t. Cool. I had to come back in the AM right when they open. As if I have time for this.
Sorry guys. My blog is literally for me to complain about my unnecessarily dramatic life. It’s like, drama with myself. Lmao.
And then I fucked up and didn’t tell my bro I was at The Grove so he drove all the way to the Beverly Center cause that’s where Verizon was. Smh. So sorry bro. You hate me.
The popcorn at the movies was stale. Goodbye.
TRACK OF THE DAY: Friend put me on this track last night. FEELS.
Wow. I’m honestly completely speechless. This movie was extremely heavy and left me at a loss for words. I hadn’t heard much about it, but people told me it was a slave movie. That’s a topic I definitely showed interested in growing up in high school. I hated history too. Martin Luther King was always an idol to me.
This picture captures the emotion in this film. I’m gonna hit you with the Wiki plot bc IMDB’s is pointless:
TRACK OF THE DAY: My girl hates this song and I find it hilarious. I like it haha.
Omg the movies. I’ve been so busy I legit didn’t even know what was playing in theaters. Which is a first. I don’t like it lmao. #FOMO. Probably a good thing though, bc movies are fucking $15.50. How is that even possible?
Anyways. I had plans to hang out with the broskee tn bc I fucking miss him. We finally were able to catch a flick. We chose Deepwater Horizon bc Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson. Duh. And it got bomb reviews, like 89%. And it was less than 2 hours. 7:10pm at The Grove.
It’s based on a true story, which is always a plus: A story set on the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded during April 2010 and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
Basically a drilling accident gone bad. My roomie had seen it and I asked if it was good. She said it was loud. Lots of screaming. Which is v accurate. But somehow, my ass fell asleep lmao. Idk man, idk. Had a long ass day at work and then went to Core Power Yoga Sculpt and died. But really. I’m super out of shape.
The movie was a little slow to begin IMO. But it got really intense toward the latter half. Pretty surreal how something like that can happen. My bro (who actually stayed awake) mentioned how sad it was what people do for money. I guess they wanted the product so bad they put people’s lives at risk. Smh.
We talked throughout the entire movie haha so much to catch up on. Anyways. Life is unexplainable rn. Bye.
TRACK OF THE DAY: if you haven’t heard Solange’s album, I definitely recommend it. She’s turning everyone’s heads.
