The Fate of the Furious.

Hey guys. It’s been a minute. Just saw The Fate of the Furious with the bro bro. I literally posted an IG Story with a caption that said “date night” but then deleted it cause I felt bad for mysef lmao. … Continue reading

Life. Literally, life lmao. Me and my girl literally had to see this for our bae, Jake Gyllenhaal, who’s last name I can never spell lmao. We love him. He’s a cutie. We hit the 9:30pm showing in Whittier. This movie theater … Continue reading

20th Century Women.

Yes please. A chick flick/comedy is all needed today. It’s been a ruff month, I swear. My soulmate emailed me about 20th Century Women and I literally was like leggo lmao. Anyone who asks me to see a movie, I will make it a priority haha. If I have time of course. Today was actually supposed to be my bday celebration, but the weather was like nope. Literally, pouring. That shit would have straight flooded.

So crazy because I actually hit this make up event beforehand, which did flood. Thank god I pulled up literally right when it reopened. All the girls said they were waiting in the parking lot for 2 fucking hours. No chill. It was this event called Generation Beauty put on by Ipsy. Man, that shit was so lit lmao.

I went for my girl cause she went out of town. A 2-day pass was fucking $118. Like WHAT. But I guess you’re paying for the products. Literally, so many samples. It was honestly a blast and I went dolo haha. I hustled as much free shit as I could. It was at the L.A. Live event deck, behind Regal Theatres. V interesting, never been up there. I enjoyed getting soaked from head to toe (said no one ever). Of course, my umbrella sits in my closet all year long and the one day I need it, I don’t have it. Of course.

This movie is an Indie film, which means it’s only playing at select theaters. We mobbed to Arclight Hollywood at 5pm. I had just come from Core Power Yoga and was a hot mess, but thankfully the rain made everyone a hot mess. I took the C2 class and it was literally so fucking hard lmao. Like that instructor was advanced af. Anywho. Shout out to my Costa Rica crew, I hadn’t seen them since our trip, and fucking missed them.

It helped that this movie got 90% ratings. Rotten Tomatoes plot: During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mom and boardinghouse landlord (Annette Bening) decides the best way she can parent her teenage son (Lucas Jade Zumann) is to enlist her young tenants – a quirky punk photographer (Greta Gerwig), a mellow handyman (Billy Crudup) and her son’s shrewd best friend (Elle Fanning) – to serve as role models in a changing world.

This plot doesn’t do justice. You might need to see the trailer, or just go see it haha and trust my judgment. It’s really quirky. I really loved that our entire theater was giggling throughout. It’s 2 hours, and I didn’t check my phone once. Didn’t even think about it. It takes place during a time when people were smoking cigarettes inside their homes. That tripped me out. That mom was smoking at the dinner table, with the food right in front of her.

This film highlighted a lot of the real life issues we deal with in this day in age. So accurate, and so real. It also shows how much a mom struggles how to keep a relationship with her son. Made me feel some typa way. It also takes place in Santa Barbara, my old hood. I enjoyed it a lot. You will too. I promise.

After swallowing the pain of a $17.75 movie ticket, I proceed to lose my parking ticket, which cost another $12. Literally had a meltdown. I decided last minute to hit church at Mosaic for their 7pm service. First time all year, and I was dolo. I liked it cause no one could see me cry lmao. Yelped a lit foot massage after. Shout out to Asia Foot Spa on Sunset.

Crazy week ahead. Sigh.

TRACK OF THE DAY: This song is fire.

Ratchet and Clank.

I literally was d for this movie bc it says Ratchet in the name lmao. This movie was PG af. My bro was d bc he just got the Moviepass and actually played the video game when he was younger. Apparently it was on Playstation haha.

Ratchet and Clank at 7:20pm at AMC Century City 15. I was sad bc I wanted See’s Candy but they closed early on Sunday haha. Wah. The movie was like hour and a half long and we were a little late. Per usual. There was like one couple in the theater and another couple with a kid. This movie was so fucking mindless for me haha. First of all I was beat from the day, I wanted to sleep but no! Paid for this ish. Kinda. We had AMC Stubs Rewards so it only cost 5 bucks. But still :(. No Moviepass life = a sad life haha.

Not sure if you care, but the plot is literally 2 superheros by the names of Ratchet and Clank, saving their alien people haha. I think? My bro mentioned a good point. Was “ratchet” even a term back then? I guess it’s like ten years old. I wonder haha. It was pretty dumbed down too. And it’s Sony which isn’t Disney or Pixar. Moral of the story, I would prob only go if I had a small child to bring haha. Otherwise, pass.

So hello Sunday, after a pretty rough Saturday. I’m sad. I failed again this morning with my bible study group. Didn’t sleep too well and ended up falling asleep again at 8:30am. I woke up and legit booked it to Ktown. I made the last 15 minutes of group :/. Smh. I wish I could attend like a normal person. I wish it wasn’t so hard to make it. Idk why I let myself fall so short. I wanted to really connect with these girls too. They ended up praying for me and I lost it. I’m a cry baby for sure.

My mouth was hurting after so I laid down. My NY hg was throwing a going away for her roomie, whom I adore, in Weho, and I really really wanted to make it. Since yoga has been so healing for me lately, I really am making it a priority. It actually worked out bc Yogaworks was legit 5 min from their apt, and my fav instructor was teaching at 4pm.

I was  happy to catch up with my girl, and their apt is just so perfect for a darty (day party, they invented it, they from the mid-west haha). I used to live with 4 girls from IU. We called ourselves the trap. I love them. I really wanted to stay longer but needed yoga haha. So yeah.

Ran some errands after. Felt bad cause my bro bro was legit bored af at home haha. All he did was go walk to get lunch lmao. I asked him if he wanted to go to church at Oasis at 6pm, he said sure. I think it was a courtesy sure haha. My friends ended up not going so we decided to do the movie instead. I think he enjoyed it haha. It’s just always nice to get out for a bit.

Wait how is it May. I swear April was like…. the longest month. And now it’s over.

Mid life crisis yll. It’s real.

TRACK OF THE DAY: I love the dvsn feature on Drake’s new album. Here’s a track from their project.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

Lmao. If I had a family like this…. shoot. I legit have the opposite haha. One sibling. And that’s all she wrote. Greek families are literally crazy, in the best way possible. Not to mention hilarious. The nun-looking grandma is literally comedy.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 at AMC Century City 15 at 5:30pm with my bros. I love them so much fr fr. They literally drive from Irvine to hang out with me. Blessed af. The movie was short, like a little over an hour 30. It was cute! I first had super cute but I realize I didn’t love it as much as my bro did haha. It seemed like he really enjoyed it.

I didn’t see the first one… I don’t think. I know it’s a classic. Which is why haha. You don’t have to see the first one to see this. I’ve officially seen all the movies out in theaters rn. S M H.

My bro had just flown in to LAX from Vegas. I was like ewww you have Vegas air on you haha. Derrrrtttyyyy. Him and my hg were actually at the same club last night haha at OMNIA. Comedy. My hg had just texted me she was hitting Oasis church in Ktown at 3pm and I was so d. I missed the original service I was supposed to hit today. Did Bar Method tho. I hope I’m getting stronger haha.

I was excited. I didn’t know what to expect. We were late per usual. The church is right on Wilshire next to Line Hotel. So party there the night before than go to church in the AM ha jk. But YO, I loved it. It was such a great experience and I loved the environment so much. Shoutout to my hg for inviting me ❤ I really liked it.

Just walking up and being greeted with so much love, so heart warming. It wasn’t that crowded either. So the church was started 32 years ago by this couple, power couple I should say. The lady’s name is Holly Wagner and I’m obsessed with her haha she was our pastor. 32  years tho? That’s so fucking long haha. And they looked young af. Gah. Amazing. Inspirational. All the above.

My bro kept commenting how hip they were esp with their marketing and social media haha and they were. I was impressed. They weren’t like Easter crazy either. It was a good message. It spoke to me for sure. I was telling my girl back home, I always feel like I hit church when I’m going through it. I wonder if I’ll ever be there and not be in turmoil. She told me I’d get there. Thanks ma.

What else what else. I need to mentally prepare for this week. Literally M-F grindmode. If you could see my planner haha. Gotta do it tho.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Heard this on the radio. Feels haha.

This movie made me feel so weird. So uneasy. So weird haha. My gay bestie wanted to see The Witch, but this was sooner. And I had ADD so I wanted to go sooner. Shoutout to him for bearing this … Continue reading

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

I really want this post to be about the bible study I went to tn, but I’ma follow suit and just title it with the movie I ended up seeing haha. Let’s knock that out of the way haha. Shoutout … Continue reading

The Big Short.

This movie is such a trip. Only because it’s a whole foreign world to me. Legit a whole separate language. The world of stocks, real estate, bankers, mortgage, home loans, I could literally keep going forever. I remember I tried to take … Continue reading

Advanced screening of Spotlight at AMC Century City 15. I invited my hg who got there early and saved us seats, bless her soul. This movie was real intense, and super real. I def got chills. It touches on a real life phenomenon that took place in Boston, back in the early 2000’s. My hg remembers more than I do, but this was the period of time when a bunch of priests were outed for molesting children. Doesn’t that just sound so wrong? Obviously, this raised a huge red flag with the Catholic church.

There were a lot of famous actors and actresses in this, but of course, I suck at names. Rachel McAdams though. Bae. I’m high key obsessed with her. She’s one of the reporters on the Boston Globe’s Spotlight team. The movie goes as the team revisits the case that has been swept under the rug. Their goal wasn’t particularly to bring justice, but to bring the story to the public eye.

What really struck a nerve with me was that this was a psychiatric issue. There were treatment centers for the priests to go to. WHAT. Think rehab, but for molesting children. As a priest. Mayne wtf. Throughout the film, the reporters go around knocking on doors to speak with both priests, lawyers, and victims. The victims they did speak with they called survivors. It was really sad to hear some of the stories.

The film was great and educational. Def the opposite of Paranormal Activity lmao. I def recommend it. I think there def needs to more films like this. Something like getting molested as a child can really mess up the rest of your life. Especially if you never come forth with it. Also, most of us assume priests and the church are holy people. This is certainly not the case.

Dang. Life. I had a dentist appointment from hell this morning. 3 fillings at once. 2.5 hours. They had to numb me 4 times. Legit tears down my face. Shots really just get me ): it was sad. She told me to stop eating candy. I laughed.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Puff Daddy dropped a surprise project for us, well, for his birthday. This is as ignorant as it gets, but I just love Frenchie haha. “Money, money ain’t a problem!”
