The Fate of the Furious.

Hey guys. It’s been a minute. Just saw The Fate of the Furious with the bro bro. I literally posted an IG Story with a caption that said “date night” but then deleted it cause I felt bad for mysef lmao. … Continue reading

Guysssss. I just made the saddest connection. I got a flat tire on my way to class (sitting here now) and realized why. There was a knife that punctured a hole and I realized it’s the result of my reckless … Continue reading

Fences.

I fucking loved this movie. Oh, the irony in this photo. Once you see it, you’ll understand why. Fences at Regal L.A. Live at 10:15pm. It’s a 2 hour 13 minute movie, so you have to commit. It was bomb though. … Continue reading

Arrival.

img_4977

Whoa. This movie was interesting. V interesting. And weird haha. First of all, HI. OMG. I haven’t seen a movie in so fucking long. Which means I haven’t been on here in so fucking long. Hi.

I was so looking forward to coming home and turning the fuck down, I can’t even tell you. My life has been brazy but no complaints. LA got me so stressed out. I almost didn’t come home too. So fucking glad I decided to. I wanted to hang with my brother even though we live by each other now haha. He just got a girl and doesn’t have time for me anymore. Tear.

Anyways. Almost missed my flight again this morning. Surprise surprise. My alarm fucking did not go off and it was my first time flying out of Burbank. IT’S SO CHILL. Fuck LAX, never going there again lmao. I took the 7am flight cause it was the only one I could afford. Of course, Southwest decided to sit on the runway for a hot 30 minutes before taking off. Sick.

I felt sick from not sleeping. But I had a bunch of errands to do when I got back so that kept me busy. Naps save lives guys. I was laughing because the only American food in my household was Cheeto puffs. Here for it.

My bro kept wanting to see the movie Arrival. I had been so busy, I don’t even know what movies are out anymore. I used to know them like the back of my hand. But it got like 90% so you know I’m widit. I was so fucking excited to be in sweats lmao. I actually went to my homegirl’s crib before but decided to go home to change into even better sweats before the movie lmao. Reckless.

10:20pm at AMC 16 Cupertino. Yassss I’m home. Also yas, 12 dollar movie tickets. Ftw. LA is ridiculous. I swear they’re gonna reach $20 soon., I was in a hoodie, sweatpants, and Uggs, and still freezing. Thermal underneath too. Hello Bay Area.

We walked in right as the movie started. Woot. And mama had Costco tickets so no money spent tonight. Halla. I literally saw my friend’s status calling it the movie of the year so I low key was expecting the best of the best. But was very disappointed lmao. Womp womp. Jk, not VERY. It was just hella slow. For someone like me who lives in the fast fucking lane of life, it was way too slow. The story was great, the plot was great, the cast, everything was dope. I just got bored and started fidgeting. 2 hour movie, ftl (for the loss).

Plot via Rotten Tomatoes: When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team–lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams)–are brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers–and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.

Amy Adams is the main character and she slays. She’s the chick from Superman. Forest Whitaker and Jeremy Renner were in it as well. I would say it’s an alien movie, or sci-fi, if you will. My bro felt bad and said we shoulda seen Moonlight because he could tell I was dying haha but it was honestly cool. Definitely interesting if you’re in a chill, think about life type mood lmao.

People clapped at the end, a good amount. Maybe being cold affected my patience too ha.

One line stuck out to me though: If you could see your life from start to finish, would you change it? DEEEEEP.

Happy Turkey Day guys! Be thankful, eat up, and be with your loved ones <3.

___

TRACK OF THE DAY: Saw bae last night. She’s legit so fucking good man. If you guys aren’t familiar with AlunaGeorge, she’s this pop singer from London, with a blend of EDM. She’s so talented.

The Girl on the Train.

0

Holy fucking shit man. This movie was absolutely insane. And I know I rave about all movies, but seriously. Really. GO SEE THIS!!!! IT’S LIFE CHANGING lmao. I swear, I enjoyed every second of it. Well, minus the parts I got scared shitless. But it legit was the craziest movie I’ve seen in a long long time. SO GOOD. It makes for a great night out fr. Please go and hit me haha I’d love to hear your thoughts.

IMDB plot: A divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.

This is based on a novel. So crazy man. How do authors think of this shit? Literally. I thought about getting into the plot but there’s just way too much that happens throughout the entire film. You have to go see it.

0

Also the cast is beyond lit. Emily Blunt KILLS IT. Seriously, homegirl deserves an Oscar. I gotta finish this article so I’m going to leave you with this haha.

Shout out to my homeboy who met me at Arclight Culver City at 7:30pm. I haven’t been to that theater in a minute. We had a ball. And shout out to him for filling me in every time I got lost ha. Literally, you might need to focus on this one.

Also, staying positive. He reminded me that you can’t have light without darkness. That really stuck with me. Muah <3.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Got put on this artist last night. Shout out to dope talent.

Deepwater Horizon.

0

Omg the movies. I’ve been so busy I legit didn’t even know what was playing in theaters. Which is a first. I don’t like it lmao. #FOMO. Probably a good thing though, bc movies are fucking $15.50. How is that even possible?

Anyways. I had plans to hang out with the broskee tn bc I fucking miss him. We finally were able to catch a flick. We chose Deepwater Horizon bc Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson. Duh. And it got bomb reviews, like 89%. And it was less than 2 hours. 7:10pm at The Grove.

It’s based on a true story, which is always a plus: A story set on the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded during April 2010 and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

Basically a drilling accident gone bad. My roomie had seen it and I asked if it was good. She said it was loud. Lots of screaming. Which is v accurate. But somehow, my ass fell asleep lmao. Idk man, idk. Had a long ass day at work and then went to Core Power Yoga Sculpt and died. But really. I’m super out of shape.

The movie was a little slow to begin IMO. But it got really intense toward the latter half. Pretty surreal how something like that can happen. My bro (who actually stayed awake) mentioned how sad it was what people do for money. I guess they wanted the product so bad they put people’s lives at risk. Smh.

We talked throughout the entire movie haha so much to catch up on. Anyways. Life is unexplainable rn. Bye.

___

TRACK OF THE DAY: if you haven’t heard Solange’s album, I definitely recommend it. She’s turning everyone’s heads.

Don’t Breathe.

I’m actually on the verge of tears rn haha. My laptop is broken. My mouse pad is all types of fucked up and it won’t read my hand touch. I legit just tried to get it to work for like 30 min. Just sitting there hoping it would miraculously heal itself. Unfortunately, not sure technology works that way :(. Man I’m so sad rn haha. Can’t afford a new comp man. That’s like straight up rent money right there.

o2sbbEoKa (1)

ANWYAYS. Let’s talk about this FUCKING crazy movie. Don’t Breathe. If you’re wondering how I’m writing this, I’m on the comp back home. YAS I’m in the bay. And yes I hate PC’s haha. I legit feel off rn. Another reason I don’t want a new Mac is cause there are no more CD drives on the new models. I need to make my mixes for the whip man. First world problems.

First off, I can’t talk about my night, because it was way too personal. It was probably one of the biggest reality checks I’ve had in a minute though. The truth can really hurt.  I shared with one of my hgs, and it didn’t feel too great. Like it’s something I’m very not proud of. Sigh.

Anyways, I was legit on a high after this movie haha. Shout out to my bay homeboy for rocking with me tonight. He brought his little sis who I fell in love with. I love family outings haha. It made me really miss my bro, who’s turning up in Chicago rn. His life man. Works hard, plays hard. That’s the motto.

I barely got back in town but I had to make the 10:25pm showing at Century Cinemas 16 on Shoreline in Mountain View. These theaters have been around forever but they recently remodeled and added reclining seats and a bar. Literally so lit up in there. I could barely find parking, and my big ass minivan don’t fit in most spots. SMH. I legit squeeze lmao. People prob hate me.

So, I thought all theaters in the bay were open seating. Not these ones. Shout out to tickets only being $13.25 though. Yo, tell me why my seat was broken. I was all super lit being on this super comfy leather couch, but then my seat wouldn’t recline. I wanted my money back. Jk. Kinda.

Okay so I purposely didn’t watch the trailer for this ha. All I know is that it scared off a lot of people. Super lit though, Cozz, the Dreamville rapper, does the theme song for it. It made me want to see the film more, obviously. It got 86%, super well deserved. I actually was expecting a horror movie with like zombies and shit but na haha. This was some real life ish.

Plot from Rotten Tomatoes: A trio of reckless thieves breaks into the house of a wealthy blind man, thinking they’ll get away with the perfect heist. They’re wrong.

I guess I coulda told you that haha. Premuch these kids break into a blind man’s house, and shit goes haywire. Like, do not underestimate a blind man. I always heard if you’re missing a sense, you make up for it in the other 4 sense. V interesting.

This movie was just bomb throughout. Hella action and hella plot twists. It’s about an hour and a half, perfect length for a scary movie. We really enjoyed it. Like we were talking about it all the way to our cars on the way out lmao. I’d def recommend it. It was well thought out, and not just another cheesy horror movie. There were some parts I jumped at, but that wasn’t even the point.

I’m excited to be home but my life is literally the hottest mess it’s been. I need to figure it out.

Question though, what is happiness? Is it subjective?

Thank goodness for movies.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Here ya go.

Mechanic: Resurrection

0

Jessica Alba is bae. And literally there’s no way she popped a baby out of her haha. THhey literally created a scene so she could show off her body in a bikini lmao. Mechanic: Resurrection at The Grove at 8:40pm, fashionably late with my PIC. I only heard of this movie bc my bro saw her at Arclight Hollywood for the premiere and I freaked out cause I love her haha.Anyways. Today was nuts.

One thing I learned is that it’s okay to be a fan. Being in the industry, I have been exposed to a lot of rappers and celebrities. And if there’s someone who you truly admire and love, what they call fangirling, THAT’S OKAY. That’s how it should be. You SHOULD be a fan and freak out. Because they’re talented and to me, it’s a way of saying thank you. For your talents.

Anyways. Today was nuts. Literally my life has been insane lately, and I want to hide under a rock. Also, I started my FOMO blog on DX, so I’ll prob only use this for movies now. I know, you’re heartbroken. Check it out though!

http://hiphopdx.com/editorials/id.3421/title.fomoblog-kanyes-pop-up-shop-fail-young-dolph-is-prince-akeem-kap-g-got-the-girls

I had an interview in Santa Monica today to try to find a placement for my last year of fieldwork, and it was a total bust. It made me so sad. Literally had so much hope and it just stabbed me in the heart. She said they didn’t need any more interns. So why the fuck did you agree to meet with me? Smh. Whatever.

I really really wanna get back in school this semester. I have to. But it’s so beyond my control at this point. It sucks so much.

Worked all day. Then hit this dope boxing event. Well, it ended up being just a little worout sesh. Shout out to the girl who invited me out. It was promoting this TV film called Ringside, and all I got from the flier was that it was going to be a workout class. It was at The Body in Hollywood, and the trainer/owner is literally so lit. She opened it up with her boyfriend, and they’re just the hottest couple ever lmao. It is right across from Hollywood Cemetry on Santa Monica, but it took me 35 min to get there haha. Not lit.

I invited my girl and was super excited for it cause I wanted a hard workout haha. Turns out this event was legit all the cast of the movie. We were like uhhhhhh lmao. They were LIT. Like, hot af. And fit. So after they took pictures of themselves for like 10 years, they finally started the workout. They said it was going to be an hour but it ended being a lot shorter.

The warmup actually had me out of breath haha but I wanted more. Legit there was this one exercise with ropes that I couldn’t do and it made me so so sad. I have no upper body strength :(. My hg KILLED IT THOUGH. Shout out to her, she literally owned that shit. I’m jealous haha.

We actually also shot a video for DX compiling people’s reactions to the Frank Ocean hype. That should be lit. I was so ratch from the day though I was like I should not be on camera rn haha. *skull emoji*

We had plans to hit the movie after. I love The Grove so much haha. You already know it was popping. I gave my girl my last free pass haha but she deserved it cause we were late af. It didn’t matter though, this movie is all action so it really doesn’t matter if you miss any parts haha.

IMDB Plot: Arthur Bishop thought he had put his murderous past behind him when his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life. Now he is forced to travel the globe to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best, make them look like accidents.

Do you guys like Jason Statham? I think he’s super lit. He always plays his role super well. There was a sex scene with Jessica Alba that was like whoa lmao. Like how many times they gotta film that until they get it? The movie was an hour 40. Totally doable.

The film got mixed reviews, but the low was pretty low. I swear it’s always because the picture is terrible. Like when you can tell they use a green screen… not lit. It makes the entire movie tacky af. I feel bad bc there was def potential there haha. Yo, bitches clapped after the movie. That was some shit.

The theater was packed too. But I guess it is opening night on a Friday. Makes sense. Man, I was just telling my girl why I love movies so much. Bc it’s an excuse to avoid the turn up haha. Seriously, fuck going out. I just don’t see the point. Getting drunk is such a waste of life. Although I was guilty of it for like way 8 years.

I guess this movie is the sequel to one a couple years ago. I was sad bc it was hella unrealistic. Like the shit Jason pulls off is just like…. impossible. Which made it less cool. His murders were fucking lit though. Literally nuts haha. It took place all around the world, but what really stuck out was how fucking beautiful Sydney, Australia was. I passed up a trip with my fam and 100% regret it. It’s gorgeous.

I’m soooooo scattered rn. Help.

TRACK OF THE DAY: Life.

Nerve.

0

You guys. This movie was fucking great. Nerve starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco, and MGK, bae haha. Jk. I used to think he was hot but he’s really intense to me now lmao. I definitely had James Franco instead of Dave up there lmao thank you Google. I think it’s James’ little bro, and they look exactly like each other haha. Emma Roberts is bae though. Just look how cute they are in the pic haha.

Just right off the bat gonna say I highly recommend this movie. It’s short, a little over an hour 30, but it’s epic. I really enjoyed it, and perfect with all the bullshit happening in my life rn haha. Real talk tho. Not only did I technically lose my job, but I got a fucking $363 handicapped parking ticket today. LIKE WHY. I mean, I know why, I take full responsibility, it’s my fault. But it had to happen rn. In the midst of my life crashing down in front of my eyes haha. Damn. Not even trynta be dramatic but the stars are NOT aligning rn.

Anyways. After literally the most painful dentist apt, I needed Starbucks. Literally go to my go-to shop down the street from me. I usually post up in this spot in the back no problem. As I’m pulling out this lady runs up on me with a ticket. I was like WHAT. Look up and see this half bent handicapped sign. The paint on the ground was faded too. I asked her what the damage was because she wasn’t budging, thinking it would be 90 bucks. Nope. 4 times that amount. I officially gave up at that point. Cried my way back to my apt. Literally gonna fight this. If I have to show up to rags in court, I’ma fight this shit. Not cool.

Okay back to the film haha. Me and my 2 hgs hit up AMC Century City 15 at 7:20pm. I love them. We all really liked the movie. SO IT’S NOT JUST ME THAT LIKED IT. Lmao my one hg keeps saying I like everything and it’s getting to me. I got out of Core Power Yoga at 7pm and GPS said it would take 20 minutes. Just taking a moment to complain about LA traffic bc that shit normally would take 5 minutes. Okay maybe 7.

Anyways. We got in right when the movie started. 20 min previews at AMC Theaters guys remember that haha. The best part is I had no idea what it was about, and left so satisfied haha. It got pretty good reviews too. I’ma give you the full Rotten Tomatoes plot cause it’ll explain it best.

Industrious high school senior, Vee Delmonico, has had it with living life on the sidelines. When pressured by friends to join the popular online game Nerve, Vee decides to sign up for just one dare in what seems like harmless fun. But as she finds herself caught up in the thrill of the adrenaline-fueled competition partnered with a mysterious stranger, the game begins to take a sinister turn with increasingly dangerous acts, leading her into a high stakes finale that will determine her entire future.

That plot was a little too complex. Bascically, it’s a game on-line and it ends up being SO nuts haha. Like truth or dare, without the truth haha literally. I seriously would love that shit. I’m an adrenaline junkie. Not sure if it’s a good thing. When I was in therapy, I was told it’s a red flag. Meep. But this movie has a lot of emotions haha. Go go go.

I hate my life rn haha. My tooth hurts and I’m doing laundry. Thankful though… to be alive? (Meep.)

TRACK OF THE DAY: Straight fire.

Star Trek Beyond.

0

Yo, Star Trek Beyond was lit. Ha. Not but really, it was pretty entertaining. And idk shit about Star Trek. Literally nothing. I was super conflicted bc my bro came out of it saying it was BOMB, and then my hg said it was boring af, and she fell asleep. And to not go haha. But then my other hg loved it and said it was better than Star Wars haha. So I hit up my homeboy. Who was just saying he was gonna hit me up haha. We had a moment.

We hit the 6pm showing at The Grove. Fav spot <3. Packed per usual. I was happy cause I had to exchange some shit at Nordstrom, which was actually a huge struggle. I went to customer service and had to wait like 25 minutes to finally finish the transaction. They had to call the manager in charge to help me. I’m so annoying. I literally be trying to return something from years ago. It’s hard out here tho…

So we were a little late for the movie haha but literally didn’t miss anything. It’s 2 hours long and all action so you gucci if you’re late. We ended up just posting in the handicapped seats at the very bottom, so we were right front and center haha. The theater was def packed. People clapped in the end. That’s when you know it’s poppin haha.

Like I said, not a fan of any of the sci-fi shit and I liked it. So if you are a fan, you’ll prob really like it haha. It’s the third movie I believe? There’s two more before this. It got great ratings, like 85%.

Plot: Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise encounter an alien warrior race when marooned on a distant planet after the destruction of their spaceship in this thrilling sequel directed by Fast & Furious director Justin Lin.

Hello Chris Pine haha. Hello Zoe Saldana. Hello Harold (from Harold and Kumar). Hello Spock. Lmao Spock is the only character I knew from Star Trek. I really didn’t follow the plot like at all. The movie is literally just action with jokes every 10 min. They were funny tho. I enjoyed it. Def found myself in my head for a good portion. But that’s normal for me.

DISTRACTED tho bc I got in a fight with my bro bro today and I’m so mad. Like I’m giving him the silent treatment haha. I’m literally so annoying. I annoy myself. But he pissed me off and I’m not letting it slide. I thought about blocking him but I wanna know how many times he hits me up lmao. I think that’s the story with everyone you consider blocking…

It’s way too hot in LA man. Literally way too hot. And I laid out at my girl’s pool today and didn’t even get tan. WTF. I’m so heated haha. Happy birthday to her tho.

Oh, after the movie, we went to say hi to my homie that works at Coach. He’s fucking hilarious and so was his co-worker/manager. Literally hilarious. We literally saw this one dude come in with a wad of cash trying to ask for a discount on a bag. And then he stormed out hella dramatic when she said no. There are crazy people in the world man. And I definitely question the source of that man’s income.

Got my girl tree on my way home. Then needed gas. Then needed to beat my roomie home. Still trynta get used to this tandem parking shit. It’s a buzzkill. Could be worse tho I guess. My homie actually gave me a little spiel on looking at the positive side of things tn. Much needed reminder.

Anyways……….. LIFE. I’m so mad at my brother haha. Someone text me something funny. Thanks.

TRACK OF THE DAY: I just love CB in this.
