Gold.

Damn Matthew McConaughey, damn. One of the first shots in the movie were of his beer belly lmao. He must have had to gain a certain amount of weight for this film. I respect actors/actresses so much for that shit. … Continue reading

20th Century Women.

20th-century

Yes please. A chick flick/comedy is all needed today. It’s been a ruff month, I swear. My soulmate emailed me about 20th Century Women and I literally was like leggo lmao. Anyone who asks me to see a movie, I will make it a priority haha. If I have time of course. Today was actually supposed to be my bday celebration, but the weather was like nope. Literally, pouring. That shit would have straight flooded.

So crazy because I actually hit this make up event beforehand, which did flood. Thank god I pulled up literally right when it reopened. All the girls said they were waiting in the parking lot for 2 fucking hours. No chill. It was this event called Generation Beauty put on by Ipsy. Man, that shit was so lit lmao.

I went for my girl cause she went out of town. A 2-day pass was fucking $118. Like WHAT. But I guess you’re paying for the products. Literally, so many samples. It was honestly a blast and I went dolo haha. I hustled as much free shit as I could. It was at the L.A. Live event deck, behind Regal Theatres. V interesting, never been up there. I enjoyed getting soaked from head to toe (said no one ever). Of course, my umbrella sits in my closet all year long and the one day I need it, I don’t have it. Of course.

This movie is an Indie film, which means it’s only playing at select theaters. We mobbed to Arclight Hollywood at 5pm. I had just come from Core Power Yoga and was a hot mess, but thankfully the rain made everyone a hot mess. I took the C2 class and it was literally so fucking hard lmao. Like that instructor was advanced af. Anywho. Shout out to my Costa Rica crew, I hadn’t seen them since our trip, and fucking missed them.

It helped that this movie got 90% ratings. Rotten Tomatoes plot: During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mom and boardinghouse landlord (Annette Bening) decides the best way she can parent her teenage son (Lucas Jade Zumann) is to enlist her young tenants – a quirky punk photographer (Greta Gerwig), a mellow handyman (Billy Crudup) and her son’s shrewd best friend (Elle Fanning) – to serve as role models in a changing world.

This plot doesn’t do justice. You might need to see the trailer, or just go see it haha and trust my judgment. It’s really quirky. I really loved that our entire theater was giggling throughout. It’s 2 hours, and I didn’t check my phone once. Didn’t even think about it. It takes place during a time when people were smoking cigarettes inside their homes. That tripped me out. That mom was smoking at the dinner table, with the food right in front of her.

This film highlighted a lot of the real life issues we deal with in this day in age. So accurate, and so real. It also shows how much a mom struggles how to keep a relationship with her son. Made me feel some typa way. It also takes place in Santa Barbara, my old hood. I enjoyed it a lot. You will too. I promise.

After swallowing the pain of a $17.75 movie ticket, I proceed to lose my parking ticket, which cost another $12. Literally had a meltdown. I decided last minute to hit church at Mosaic for their 7pm service. First time all year, and I was dolo. I liked it cause no one could see me cry lmao. Yelped a lit foot massage after. Shout out to Asia Foot Spa on Sunset.

Crazy week ahead. Sigh.

Fences.

I fucking loved this movie. Oh, the irony in this photo. Once you see it, you’ll understand why. Fences at Regal L.A. Live at 10:15pm. It’s a 2 hour 13 minute movie, so you have to commit. It was bomb though. … Continue reading
